Tips
- Please bring your own towels, tea towels, bedding for the hide-a-bed (bedding is provided for the beds).
- Bring cleaning supplies as you are responsible for tidying up your cabin before departure.
- Please note that in Saskatchewan taxes on fixed roof accomodations are the same as in Alberta. There is no Provincial Sales Tax on Campsites.
- There is a 5% Provincial Sales Tax on anything that you cannot eat.
- Once you leave home and hit the pavement, all but the last 13 km of your trip will be on paved roads. (Saskatchewan has more roads to maintain than any state or province.)
- At dusk and dawn watch for deer and other wildlife along Highway 55, especially in the spring and fall.
- If your unsure of which Highways to take to get to Lac Des Isles, please ask me. I've traveled extensively in Saskatchewan and Alberta, so I'd be happy to give you some tips.
- Since we have been at Lac Des Isles, most guests have found their were less mosquito's at Northern Cross than at home. However, bring insect repellant if your vulnerable to the "little devils". At certain times in June there are small flies at the waters edge that can be a pest and there are a few more bugs that city folks are use to, so you might want to bring a can of raid too.
- Don't forget to leave Northern Cross's phone number with a friend or relative in case of emergency.
